We were talking about sides.
1)You gotta have some bread. I have baked bread in the past. Mr. G is a fan of the brown and serve rolls. But i gotta say, for taste and ease, my favorite is the frozen bread rolls that you thaw and allow to rise. I usually buy Rhodes or Bridstone. Love these and I could probably eat a dozen all by myself. Be sure to take them out the night before though!!! It will be a major fail if you have no bread for dinner!!!
2) Corn casserole: this is one of our new family favorites. Every time I make it, people rave about it so I thought it would be a great addition to Thanksgiving dinner.
Corn Casserole (from my friends Trisha and Sara)
1 can cream corn
1 can whole corn
1 stick of melted butter
1 box of Jiffy cornbread mix
1 C of sour cream
1 egg, beaten
Combine all ingredients. Pour into a greased casserole dish and bake at 350 for one hour. TASTY!
This is so totally easy to make. The hardest part is waiting for it to bake!
3) Cranberry sauce. I have made cranberry sauce in the past, and I really liked it. I love the taste combination of cranberries with oranges. But, my family really prefers the old fashioned stuff in the can that slides out and you slice up on the can ridges. :)
Check back tomorrow for Mr. G's dressing recipe!
yum. And we also love the canned cranberry sauce.:)
ReplyDeleteI'm copying down that corn casserole recipe. It sounds amazing.
